'Life's Finale To A Beep' by Jaime Bree

Beep.

I can hear them you know.

Beep.

All that worry. All those tears. They're scared I guess.

Beep.

I wish I could tell them I'm fine. I wish I could smile at them one last time. Hold their hands and

squeeze as they do mine.

Beep.

I feel the breeze. I sense the end as the morning sun brightens the room and that rickety old blind

tat-taps against the glass.

Beep. Beep.

They find it annoying. It's funny hearing their irritation. Who gets angry at a blind? I suppose it's

projected anger. They should have done more, they think. They should have tried.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

Rushing. So many people around me. 'Clear!' Pounding. Crying. 'Clear!'

‘Please. Please. Please, no...'

It's ok.

I'm ok.

Let me go.

I'm ready and I love you all.

Beep
