Slippery was that rope bridge suspended over the rainforest canopy. Sign said “Danger! Keep out! Wild animals. Don’t go across.”
There were horizontal logs with wide cracks between – made you weak at knees to cross. Kids wove grass, binding it together, but some little’uns fell down onto swamps of alligators.
Heard Mamma’s anger. Told us we’re mad, Ma did. Someone took an axe and chopped those middle wooden strips deliberately.
