'Storm and After Storm' by Jean Feingold

Could this really happen? It was raining so hard, visibility was zero. The sound the wind made was so loud, it hurt people’s ears. Awnings and trees fell to the ground dangerously. 

And then the storm stopped, instantly and completely, and the sky was filled with brilliant sunlight and white puffy clouds. Birds began singing cheerful songs. Could this really happen?
