Write-In 2019: 'Imagine' by Voima Oy

Can you imagine a future where we're not together? he said once.

They were living under the bridge, sound of traffic rushing by overhead. She watched the waterfall of rain, and didn't care about the future.

That was when they were young and strong.  They saved their money working the asteroid mines, breathing in the black dust. She covered her cough with her hand, pretended not to notice his cough was getting worse.

They were going to start a new life on Mars.
Now she watches the blue sunset, his ashes mixing with the red dust.

Can you imagine a future where we're not together? he said once.
